Revolucionarios en el 20 de Noviembre

The Mexican Revolution is a very significant date for all Mexicans, this is due to the tremendous historical importance, which marked the difference between political periods.

The November 20 day of the Mexican Revolution, consists of one of the most critical social, economic and political movements that occurred between 1910 and 1920.

In the history of the Mexican Revolution, the most important thing was to end with a Porfirian dictatorship, which was so named because it was presided over by President Porfirio Díaz, who had remained in power for 30 years since he had taken command of Mexico since 1876.

President Porfirio Díaz, who in spite of giving the country a remarkable growth in the political and economic part, significantly affected society.

According to the information on the Mexican revolution thanks to the historians: the people of low strata were those who benefited the least and suffered due to the regime as mentioned earlier.

The causes of the Mexican Revolution are multiple and very complex. Among the best known, which led the people to join and take up arms are:
  • The permanence of Porfirio Diaz in power, who since he became president in 1876, was re-elected seven times, so his term became a dictatorship.

  • The properties of many people were sold, and many of their former owners - mostly indigenous - were scammed or dispossessed of their property and forced to work as laborers in exploitative conditions.

  • Emiliano Zapata en la Revolucion Mexicana

It is estimated that, by 1910, 1% of the population owned 85% of the arable land, giving rise to many people working the properties of others.

In 1907, an international economic crisis reduced the income of foreign companies operating in Mexico, which caused unemployment and reduced wages.

Finally, between 1908 and 1909, a terrible drought reduced corn harvests, which severely impacted the feeding of the most vulnerable minorities. Because of all this, the Díaz government had lost the support of the majorities.

Due to these reasons, there were multiple indigenous and peasant rebellions, as well as strikes by workers who were brutally repressed by the military forces of the country.

In fact, in the information of the Mexican Revolution, it is explained that in the first decade of the 20th century there was some crisis at the national level, where one could see the discontent that some sectors had about the 'Porfiriato'.

One of the characteristics of the Mexican revolution is that after the resignation of Diaz, he made the decision to go into exile in France. After that, in the year 1911, the corresponding elections were made, resulting Madero winner. However, at the beginning of his term, the differences with other leaders did not wait.

At the Solaris Resorts, this date was no exception, since we decided to celebrate this important date of the Mexican Revolution, along with our staff and guests we had the opportunity to have a day full of activities, games and delicious food.

In the morning, our friend Pancho, dressed in traditional Mexican clothing, and along with the animation and sports team, went to take a tour of the different Solaris hotels, visiting the guests while they had breakfast or merely relaxing in the pool or near the beach.

After that, one of the most refreshing activities came, a game was made in the pool of Royal Solaris Los Cabos, which is known as Sombreros Locos, where a traditional Mexican hat was used, a contest where they have to go around and pass the hat to the next contestant, while listening to regional Mexican music.

At the end of the contest, and having a draw between contestants who received a prize, a Mexican style conga line was made, a "Víbora De La Mar," to take our Members and Guests to wear a traditional Mexican kermes was prepared.

    Tequila Tasting en Los Cabos

Typical Mexican games were played, like the hoops shot, where you have to throw a ring to bottles, to get points, being the one with more points the winner of a prize, big and small could participate equally, without a doubt a game of skill.

The game of shooting to balloons, where with darts you had to burst as many balloons as you could, adding points for each one, and being the winner who had more points at the end. We also had the help of our MiniClub team, who had painted them, to paint Mexican flags and give you a more Mexican touch while celebrating with everyone.

And undoubtedly one of the favorite activities by adults, was the Tequila Tasting, presenting the different Tequila types that are in the resort and that exist in Mexico, being these the White, Reposado, and Añejo, that have more and more time in the barrel, in the order of mention (between more time, better flavor).

These were accompanied with chips, chicharron, pico de gallo, as well as, lemons, orange, and even limes so that everyone could taste the different types of tequila we had for them, and they can have the authentic taste of Mexico.
